You can learn more about fanlistings at Thefanlistings.org. About Lucy Lucy Knight, played by Kellie Martin, started as a med student in the ER at the begining of season 5. Her and Dr. Carter, her assigned resident, got off to a rough start when she lied about being able to start an IV, but he always knew she had potential. Even though she was pretty good in the ER, psychiatry was really her thing. She could have been a resident in psychiatry when she graduated, but in season 6 a patient named Paul Sobriki came into the ER and that all changed. Paul was schizophrenic and Lucy was waiting with him for a psych consult when he stabbed her in the stomach and neck. He also stabbed Carter when he came in to look for Lucy. While Carter managed to survive, Lucy wasn't as lucky. She died from a pulmonary embolism.
